There are a couple of ways I spoke about in the post So you would like to be able to customize your day planner page? So, instead of going over those points again, I will be going over how I make my inserts in Publisher 2016. If you don’t have Publisher you can use Word or Open office. Open Office is a free program that I used before I bought the Microsoft office. Openoffice Website
If you are using a Apple computer you could use Pages, its just like Word for Mac user.
When I make my inserts I make them for a A5 or half a letter. I do make my own inserts for personal size planner, but for today I will be talking about the A5 or half a letter size inserts. If you would like to know how I make my personal size please send me a email or just leave a commit below.
So lets jump in to how I make my weekly inserts. When starting to make a new insert I will start with a blank page that is vertical. This way I can just half the page to the first part of my week and second part of my week on the same page. I adjust the margins to Zero, this way I can print on the whole sheet of paper.
At this point I do use Guides, then move one line to the five inch line and the second line to the six inch line. This way I have marked out that my hole punch will be in these area. I will also draw a straight line down the center of this area so that I know where I should cut the paper to make two inserts. I will also draw a line across the bottom of the page to mark where to cut, its half an inch from the bottom.
This is what it will look like when I am done setting everything up to start my planner inserts. When I go to print the two black line will show up, but the blue lines will not. The black line are where I will be making the cuts on the paper after printing. I find doing it this way I do not waste as much paper.
At this point I will start to add columns in, I do you tables to make my columns. I start with column width 1.5, this way if I want to add stickers in later it the with of most sticker you can buy for the Erin Condren life planner. This stander height for the box boxes is 1.9, but this is up to you if you want your planner page that look like the Erin Condren life planner. If you want one large box just grab the bottom of the box and drag it down.
Don’t forget you don’t want the bottom of the box to go past the black line at the bottom or you will be cutting it off. This is your planner insert play with how you want them to layout and how it would best fit you. I don’t use a lot of stickers so when I am making my I will add in different shape to make it more eye pleasing to me.
When I am done this is how my weekly planner page inserts looks, I will change the color of the shapes for each month so that I can have some color in my planner. Again its your planner layout your weekly how you like it.
I hope this help you customize your weekly planner. Please feel free to email me or leave comments down below with any questions you may have.
