Hello, Butterflies
Yes, you are read the title right! I use an Index in my Traveler's notebook.
In my Traveler's notebook, I do the Bullet Journal style of planning. Not all the inserts I use are hand drawn. I do use a couple of printed inserts in my TN. The big part of Bullet Journaling is the Index, for a long time I did not use when in a hardbound journal.
So when I went back to my TN it was no big deal to have one. The New Year was coming and I always like a new change to my planner set up for the coming year. So I add things that back to my TN, like kids stuff, business stuff, and house stuff. In my house, we have a family planner that everyone uses, but I was finding when we were out that I could not see what was upcoming with family things or evens that I need to buy things for.
We still have the family planner but now I also carry it with me inside my TN.
With adding all the new things to my TN I need to find a way to get the information I need quicker. So why not add an Index to my TN?
So I started hunting around for Information on Indexing in a Travelers Notebook. I did not find info on Indexing in a TN but found how others that have a journal with no index would add one them self.
So Why Not Add One!
So I add a blank insert to my TN. and drew up an Index on the first 4 pages of the insert.
Now it was time to come up a key on how to Index!
Each Insert has its own number, so this way I can write in Insert number with the page number.
So the key looks like this:
1B - Trackers, Monthly Reviews, Monthly Projects
2B - Calendar
3B - Weekly and Daily
4B - Notes and List
5B - PlanneryButterfly Stuff
6B - Collections
So I put my Key for identifiers on the left side and the Key for my Index on the right side of the first couple of pages of my Index insert.
So here is what the Index looks like filled in.
When I change out an Insert I highlight it in the Index so that lets me know I removed it from my TN. I will put in a container that set next to my desk. This way if there is anything I need to referrer to its close to hand. The container will keep all Inserts until the end of the year.
I hope if you're looking for a way to have an Index in your Travelers Notebook this helps you find a way to do so.
I would love to hear from you!
Thank you for stopping by
