Hello, Butterflies
Today I would like to share a DIY with you. I am always looking for a cheaper way to add things to my Travelers Notebook. Plus I like doing DIYs. There are many YouTubers that I have seen make a File folder into a T.N. Folders. They are sharing how to make a folder with a file folder with a clear coating, so I decided to see if this could be done with a plain old vanilla file folder. I also want to put to the test how long this folder would hold up in my T.N.
I made my folder for my T.N. four months ago, and it has held up and still look like the day I made it. I am not easy with my Travelers Notebook, so for it to hold up as well as it has got a thumbs up.
Don't get me wrong I would think that the file folder with the clear coat will last for a longer time than the plain old vanilla. So if you need a folder but don't have the time to run to the store and have just the plain vanilla folder laying around, it will work until you can get a folder you would like.
Ok, so let jump into the Supplies you will need to make your folder.
Supplies Need:
- File Folder
- Pencil
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Tape
When I measure for my folder I just removed a dashboard from my T.N. and trace around it putting the fold of the dashboard to the fold of the folder.
I cut down the longest part of the folder, removing the side with the tab. Leaving the marked part that below the trace dashboard.
With the line across at the bottom, I drew a thin triangle to the bottom of the folder. The line across will be where you fold the folder up to make the pocket in your folder. The thin triangle is where you will cut out so that it will make it easier to put papers in.
So when you fold the bottom flaps up this what it will look like. Now its time to tap the side of your pockets to the large panels.
Now you have a folder for you're T.N.! I took it a step further and round the corners of the folder and where the folder folds so that I had a place for my elastic to set.
I also did the middle fold think that the elastic would not pull as much on the fold and rip it.
If you have any suggestions for a DIY you like me to try please leave a commit below.
