Tomas system is a mixture of planning system that work for
him. There are many planning systems out
there, the reason why is one planning system does not work for everyone. So, you can take piece of one planning system
that work for you and add to another as long it helps you get your stuff done. The
down fall about doing is it may take you some time to figure out what work for
you, this can take some time to find what works for you.
Let start talking about Thomas’
3 Tier Planning System.
He has 3 Tiers
1.
Idea Capture and Organize
2.
Weekly Planning
3.
Daily Planning
Tier 1: Idea Capture aka Task Capture
Idea:
Any piece of info you may want to do something with later.
·
Tasks
·
Events
·
Free- Form Ideas
Task or action items will go into a to do list.
Anything that does not go into a to do list or calendar goes
in to Evernote for him the reason he uses Evernote is so he can take it with
him everywhere with him. For me I uses a note book in my planner that goes with
me everywhere my planner goes.
Tier 2: Weekly
Planning
Take all the Ideal from Tier 1 and decide what he is going
to do with them. He set down and write in his notebook He put the week’s date
also placing 3 sections on his paper Events, Tasks, and Maybe.
Events - Scheduled on
the Calendar
Task- Bulk of the week, things that need to get don’t that
week.
Maybe- Holds Task that don’t have time to get done, but if
there and opening will fill in
Tier 3: Daily Planning
This is all about Action
·
Write the daily plan in order to be done. This
way you can get stuff done though the whole day.
·
Give each task and estimate time to get it done.
This will help you know how many tasks you can get done in a day.
·
Make sure to check off each task when it’s
complete in daily plan and also in the weekly.
