DIY Kids School Planner

It's that time again, Back to School !!!

So, today I want to share with you how my son and I turned a composition notebook into a planner for this school year.

Each year the school give us an option to buy a planner from the school or buy one on our own. We normally buy one from the school each year. Talking with my son he had said that he did not use it because there was not enough room in the planner for him to write in a class project, homework assignment and up coming tests.

This year we made a Bullet Journal style, so if something is not working for him he can change it up as the school year goes along.

He decided that he only wanted a Monthly and Weekly layout, we only did this for the first month of school. On the left-hand side we had added sticky notes so that he can add a class key on the large notes, and on the small ones, he will be putting a class name on each of them. This way he can just move the sticky note with the class name to the day instead of writing it out. Which will give him more writing room on each day.

For the weekly view, we only did Monday - Friday, and the last column is Due Next Week for any thing that may be due the following week. This way he can see it, remember over the weekend that he needs to work on it and complete it before it's due.

We know that this one notebook will not do the full school year, but will get him in the habit of using a planner for school.  I am looking forward to seeing how he grows in his own Bullet Journal.

I will be doing a review on his planner, things he may have added, changed or things that did not work for him.

If you have any ideas on things that you would have add please leave comments down below.

As always have a good day Butterflies, see you soon.
