Have you ever used a program to plan?
I prefer to plan pencil to paper but find sometimes that Digital Planning also helps me stay connected with my family's events and task.
I use Evernote as its a free program and can share notebooks with people that also use the program. I share with my husband and children, which they can check and use on their computers, phones, or tablet.
I have made 10 notebooks with different category names. I get to pick and choose what family members I can share what notebook with. For example, I have a Social Media notebook for my blog, my husband and kids don't use it so need to share that notebook with them.
Let me share with you what category I have and what family member I share with.
- Inbox = Family
- Social Media = Self
- Kids = Family
- Personal = Self
- Brain Dump / Brain Storming = Self
- Personal Growth =Self
- Financial = Husband
- Family = Family
- Plannerbutterfly = Self
- Planning = Husband
Each notebook holds sub categories.
For Example Kids notebook
- Oldest Wishlist
- Youngest Wishlist
- Password Log
- Upcoming Events
If the kids have a note they are not sure where to put it they will add it to the inbox. Like my oldest likes to place a note in for a test she has next Thursday in her Culinary class and homework due on Monday for Social Studies.
Each night I will check the inbox for any notes that need to be moved to the correct notebook. When I set down to plan for the next day I will go thought Evernote and write down any task and events I have for that day, and any events that the family has for the day.
I will also set alarm on any thing that the kids may have put in for the day. This is mom 's way of reminding them with out sounding like I am nagging them.
So yes I do use Digital planning to stay connected with my Family events. I will never give up on pencil and paper for planning.
