How to Make a Folder and Writing Board for your Travelers Notebook

Hello, Butterflies

Today I would like to share a cheap way to make your own folder and writing board for your Travelers Notebook.

I use an A5 Travelers Notebook so will showing the process but I will not be sharing measurements as you will need to measure your own TN to make the size that will fit yours.

So I will start off showing you how to make the folder. This Folder I have made out of printer paper. I have also made one out of 32pound printer paper and to me, I could not tell the difference between the paper after assembling them.

Supplies Need for Paper Folder:

  • 5 sheets of printer paper
  • Paper cutter or Scissors
  • All Purpose Glue Stick
  • Ruler
  • Pencil

The first step you will need to do is to glue two of the paper together.

Well, you're letting the paper dry, you will need to start making out the shape of the pocket on one of the black paper.

When you measure out your pocket you will need to add an inch to the bottom and long side so that you will have a section to be able to glue the pocket to the backing.

At the fold on the long side and bottom, you will need to cut a small section out so the paper will fold over the edge easily.

Place the pockets on the sides of your paper gluing the flap for the long side to the back side of the paper. The flap should wrap around the edge of the paper when putting it together. You will also need to do this to the bottom flap as well. Let the glue dry, will you find a design that you like to be on the back side of the folder.

After you have glued all the flaps down you find that its just white paper and you want to cover the flaps and have a design on the outside of your folder. On the last sheet of paper print out your design. It's time to glue your design sheet to the back side of your folder to give it a nice look and to cover the flaps you glued.

After the glued has dried now its time to fold the folder. I use a credit card down the fold to make it crips.

Woohoo Your Done! This project took me 20 minutes to complete.

Supplies Need for Writing Board:

  • Composition notebook used or ok to cut up
  • Paper cutter or Scissors
  • All Purpose Glue Stick
  • Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Washi tape
  • 1 sheet of printer paper

This project will take 10 to 20 minutes to complete.

You will need to measure your TN for the size you would like to make.

The first thing you will need to do is cut the front or back cover off the notebook, you will only need one unless the cover of you composition notebook is thin.

Now its time to take your printer paper and glue it to one side of the composition cover. Make sure to cut the paper the same size of the cover. Let it Dry.

Flip the cover over to the side that still looks like the composition book. Now you need to pick out the washi tape you would like the backside to look like. At this point, you can pick how you like the washi tape to lay. You can make a pattern you can just run lines of it.

After removing all the extra washi tape YOUR DONE!

At this point, you can add other little things like sticky notes or sticky flags or clear sticky pocket.

I add my writing board as a page marker in my planner.

I hope you enjoyed seeing how you can make a Paper Folder and Writing Board for a very low cost.

Thank you for Stopping in.
